What’s next, my love?

What's next, my love? Shall we build an airplane,
A shining RV-6 to swoop and float in air?
We'll fasten the parts with our usual flair,
Windshield and wingtips our mutual gain.

And we can also shine up "Easy 2."
You know how she needs a summer's varnish;
With "Bright Boy" and wax, a fresh glossy finish
We'll sail her to Scorpion, sky clear and blue.

And we can take the Bronco back to Baja
With Leslie and Peter, Heather and Will--
Dust tracks and streambeds invite us to follow,
Lost and then found, till night, bright and still.

For we both know what all of this is worth:
Returning peace, recapture of lost mirth.
